Julia Marin is an Auckland based jeweller. Originally from Argentina, Julia started learning jewellery in 2005 when she joined SURJA Jewellery School in Buenos Aires. At the time she was changing Law School for Fashion Design, and Jewellery was the perfect hobby to complement the change. Little did she know that it was going to be a one way ticket!

In 2008 she moved to New Zealand and since 2012 Julia started working from her home studio in the coastal village of Piha.

Between 2014 and 2016 Julia completed a Jewellery Design and Manufacture Diploma at MIT and a Diamond Setting course at Peter Minturn.

Julia specialises in custom contemporary fine jewellery and teaches Jewellery at Whitecliffe School of Arts in Auckland.

Her work explores the interaction of simple elements in minimalist compositions, in the search of playful combinations resulting in effortless and elegant pieces.

Bold aesthetic, clean lines and timeless design, drawing inspiration from Brutalist architecture, Modernism, Art Deco and Nature.

Julia utilises silver and goldsmithing techniques of hand fabrication, as well as using casting components and 3D printing CAD technology. Materials are recycled or reclaimed whenever possible, all gemstones and pearls are ethically sourced from NZ and overseas suppliers.
